Már a maga korában feltűnt Verdi témaválasztása: a lelkész, akit megcsal a felesége, felajánlja a válást, de asszonya visszatér hozzá, a megbocsátás és a boldog vég küszöbén pedig a nő apja megöli a csábítót. Miért bonyolódik a katolikus itáliai zeneszerző egy Ausztriában játszódó válás történetébe? Egyáltalán, mi köze a protestantizmushoz? A kérdések nyomasztották Verdit és a darabot is, ezért utóbb Aroldo címen átdolgozta, ám a mű a mai napig sem így, sem úgy nem kapja meg a neki kijáró figyelmet. Az Opera 2013 után újra eljátssza a Stiffeliót, ezúttal a reformáció félezer esztendős jubileumának tiszteletére – előtanulmányul az alkotás 2019-es színpadi bemutatójához.

There are audience members who can only afford to hear their favourite pieces with a discount. And there are works that, although very popular, cannot be staged every season due to the congestion of productions.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
