A nyitószám Brahms komor hangvételű Tragikus nyitánya lesz, majd a 19. század versenymű-repertoárjának páratlan remeke, Schumann magasrendű zenei gondolatokban és mély érzelmekben gazdag a-moll zongoraversenye következik, amely 1845-ben nyerte el végleges, három tételes formáját. Nagy igényű szólószólamát ezúttal a legautentikusabb előadásban hallhatja a közönség Ránki Dezső előadásában. A szünet után Brahms 1877 nyarán, egy Wörthi-tó melletti üdülőhelyen készült 2. (D-dúr) szimfóniája hangzik el, a zeneszerző egyik legfelszabadultabb, gyönyörű melódiákban gazdag kompozíciója. A Győri Filharmonikus Zenekart Rajna Martin vezető karmester dirigálja.
