„2000-ben a párommal vonaton utaztunk Marosvásárhelyre. A tízórás út közben valahogy felmerült, hogy mit csinálnánk, ha ötösünk lenne. A végére annyira elszontyolodtunk, hogy azt gondoltam, ezt megírom. Öt évig tartott. Kezdetben egy buszmegálló volt a helyszín legalább huszonöt szereplővel. Aztán egyre fogytak a szereplők, végül maradt egy konyha meg egy negyvenes házaspár. Nyertek hatszázmilliót. Nem lövöm le a poént!”

The story of the Fountain of Bakhchisarai is set in motion by a romance recounting the reason for the khan's gloom.
