A '30-as évek végén Füst Milán vígjátékot írt a szépséges Margit kisasszonyról, az őt ostromló vezérigazgatóról, annak idegtépően szerelmes Alfonz fiáról, és lányáról, a karcos-titokzatos Tildáról. Szerepel továbbá a történetben egy kisfiú, akinek talán három anyja van, talán egy sincs; Horváth úr, a könyvelők gyöngye, a mindenütt hallgatózó Novák bácsi, és ennek felesége, Máli néni, aki így mutatkozik be: "Egy szegény rokon. Valaha jómódban, most tönkretéve. Ilyen a világ, kérem." Máli néni - ez a tipikusan pesti tündér és boszorkány - a végén mindent helyre rak. A gazdag veszít és győz a szegény.
