Az elegáns londoni emeleti lakás Philipé és Johannáé. Hetek óta tart a renoválás, nagy a felfordulás. Philip és Henry sikeres gyermekkönyv-kiadók, irodájuk a földszinten található. Henry nagy nőcsábász. Amíg Philip a feleségével vendégségbe készül, addig Henry egy hölgyismerősével randizna társa lakásában. Nem tudja, hogy felesége is ezt tervezi újdonsült lovagjával. És van, amiről egyikük sem tud: a felújításon dolgozó belsőépítész is épp szerelmi légyottra hívta a szobalányt. A teljes káosz közepébe érkezik meg váratlanul a meglehetősen prűd hölgy hírében álló híres mesekönyvíró, akire a kiadó már régóta fente a fogát…
