Beumarchais, a Figaro házassága szerzője (és sok más társa Shakespeare-től Feydeau-ig) jól tudja, hogy az élet nem sivár és unalmas. Igaz, Figaro szereti Zsuzsit, és Zsuzsi is szereti Figarót, csakhogy még mások is vannak a színen: a Gróf, akinek Zsuzsi kell, a Grófnő, akinek a Gróf, de talán beéri mással is, nem beszélve Chérubinról, aki szintén Zsuzsi után sóvárog, de tetszik neki majd’ mindenki, és ő is tetszik majd’ mindenkinek, legyen az akár fiú, akár lány, és sorban a többiek, köztük Fanchette és Bazilio… Szóval az élet egy vígjáték, amiben néha véletlenül pont azzal találkozunk, akit szeretünk. Néha meg pont azzal nem.
