„A darab a női lélek, a társkapcsolat olyan megmutatkozása, amely olyan problémákat tárgyal, feszeget, amelyekről nem szoktunk beszélni. Mi, férfiak, nem értjük, hogy mért csinálja ezt a csaj. Itt egy bizonyos aspektusból fény derül arra, hogy miket hordozhat egy nő magában. Természetesen egy nőnek is tanulságos. Mit ront el egy társkapcsolatban? Miért hozza be a jelenébe a múlt hibáit? Miért nem működik a kapcsolat? Ezzel a lánnyal csúnya dolgok történnek, hoz magával egy olyan múltat, amellyel nagyon nehéz életre kelni. Talál egy fiút, aki meg tudná törni a jeget, ám neki is van viszonya a világhoz…” (Gerner Csaba, az előadás rendezője a darabról.)

This ballet's plot is inspired by The Corsair, a famous verse written in 1814 by Lord Byron, who towered over an entire generation of English Romantic poets.

Following on the heels of the introductory Das Rheingold, this opera about the tragic love between two of Wotan's children constitutes the start of the more tightly drawn dramatic trilogy. Once again, the laws of the gods clash: can paternal love save a lad who has violated the sanctity of marriage?
What happens when the worst traits of a power-hungry prince incapable of resisting earthly pleasures, a morally corrupt, vengeful, manipulative woman, and a desire-driven but highly impressionable teenage girl all erupt at the same time upon the appearance of a holy man?
