„Rögöcse valahol Magyarországon található. Nem város, amolyan nagyközség, de mint mindenütt ott is emberek élnek. Közöttük Tálas Lőrinc fazekasmester akinek híre már régen túlterjedt Rögöcsén, ha népi ihletettségű szép kerámiáit árulta a különböző vásárokban. Többek között a hagyományos Miska-kancsót is, aminek mindig nagy keletje volt a vásárlók körében csak maga Tálas mester találta ebben a formában már unalmasnak. Elhatározta, hogy megkísérli eredetibbé tenni és a továbbiakban élethű fejet mintáz rá, művészi módra, modell után.

The story of the Fountain of Bakhchisarai is set in motion by a romance recounting the reason for the khan's gloom.
