Amikor Liszt Ferenc nemzeti érzésvilágunk esszenciáját zenébe fogalmazó Hungaria című szimfonikus költeményét bemutatták, még nem lehetett sejteni, hogy szinte pontosan egy évszázad múlva kezdődik a 20. századi magyar történelem egyik legdrámaibb eseménysora… A Kodály Filharmonikusok az ’56-os forradalom ünnepének előestéjén ezzel a két klasszikus művel, valamint Dubrovay Lászlónak a forradalom ötvenedik évfordulójára alkotott nagyszerű verses-szimfonikus kompozíciójával hajtanak fejet a hősök emléke előtt.
